Backyard Transformation in Huntington, NY
The homeowner had an aging, uneven concrete patio with poor drainage that flooded during heavy rain. The backyard was unusable for entertaining and lacked any defined outdoor living space. Overgrown landscaping encroached on the patio area, and the existing grade sloped toward the foundation.
We designed and executed a full backyard transformation including demolition of the old concrete slab, re-grading the entire yard for proper water flow away from the house, installation of a 600 sq ft Cambridge paver patio with Armortec protection, a seating wall with integrated lighting, and a French drain system tied into a dry well to eliminate the flooding problem permanently.
The finished project gave the family a beautiful, functional outdoor living space with room for dining, a fire pit area, and plenty of room for entertaining. The drainage issues were completely resolved. No more standing water, even during the heaviest Long Island storms. The homeowner reported the space became the most-used area of their home.
