Asphalt Paving in Massapequa, NY
The homeowner's existing asphalt driveway was over 20 years old with extensive cracking, potholes, and crumbling edges. The driveway had no defined border, which allowed the edges to deteriorate faster. Drainage ran toward the garage instead of the street, causing water intrusion into the foundation.
We performed a full driveway removal down to the subgrade, then installed a properly compacted crushed concrete base per NYS specifications. Belgian block borders were set in concrete along both sides and the apron for a clean, finished edge. The new asphalt was laid in two lifts with proper compaction at each stage, and the entire driveway was graded to pitch water toward the street.
The new driveway completely transformed the home's curb appeal. The Belgian block borders added an upscale finishing touch that the homeowner loved, and the corrected drainage pitch eliminated the water intrusion problem. The project was completed in just 3 days with full cleanup.
