Concrete pads are compact, purpose-built slabs designed to support specific equipment and structures around your Long Island property. Different applications require different specs. An HVAC pad must be perfectly level with proper airflow clearance. A generator pad is sized to the unit and manufacturer clearance requirements. A hot tub pad needs significantly more structural capacity, often six inches or more of reinforced concrete, to handle the combined weight of the tub, water, and occupants. We excavate eight to ten inches below finished grade, install four inches of compacted crushed stone aggregate, and set forms with the correct pitch to drain water away from equipment and adjacent structures.

We use air-entrained ready-mix concrete rated at a minimum of 4,000 PSI. Equipment pads typically receive a smooth steel-trowel finish, while pads with foot traffic get a broom finish. Reinforcement ranges from welded wire mesh for standard utility pads to rebar for heavy-duty applications. We also coordinate with your HVAC contractor, electrician, or other trades when conduit, sleeves, or anchor bolts need to be cast into the concrete during the pour. Proper base preparation is critical on Long Island, where sandy coastal soils and organic topsoil can settle significantly if not removed and replaced with compacted aggregate.
