We excavate eight to twelve inches deep depending on conditions, install geotextile fabric to prevent base migration, and compact processed gravel in multiple lifts before screeding a one-inch bedding layer of coarse concrete sand. After the pavers are placed and cut, we compact the surface and sweep polymeric sand into the joints, which hardens to lock units in place, inhibit weeds, and resist ant tunneling.

Pavers handle Long Island's salt air, nor'easters, and heavy foot traffic with minimal upkeep. We recommend cleaning once or twice a year and reapplying a breathable sealer every three to five years.
